WHO/WHAT: Calling all nurturing souls, postpartum pros, and modern-day Mary Poppins types—this deeply meaningful short-term role is for you. A sweet 7-week-old baby boy and his loving parents are in need of a calm, capable, and experienced full-time nanny to help guide them through a tender season of postpartum recovery and new parenthood. This is not your typical nanny role. It’s something softer, more intuitive—somewhere between newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, and steady household anchor. Mom is currently recovering from a severe case of postpartum depression. She’s home now and healing, but still navigating depression and needs gentle, consistent support to get through the day and care for her son. Your role will be to help this family find their footing again. You’ll care for the baby—diapers, bottles, soothing, rocking, naps—and also support Mom in the ways she needs most: offering breaks when she’s overwhelmed, sitting with her as she breastfeeds, prepping a meal, folding laundry, or simply keeping the home peaceful and flowing. You’ll read the room with grace and know when to quietly tidy and when to step in with encouragement or care. The family will deeply value your presence—not just for your newborn expertise, but for your steady kindness. A nonjudgmental spirit is essential. They’re looking for someone deeply compassionate, with experience supporting moms during the postpartum stage—whether formally as a doula or simply through intuitive, patient caregiving. The family may need occasional help with groceries, bottle prep, or errands (a car is available), and would love someone who sees what needs doing and steps in gently. This position is ideal for a professional nanny or postpartum support provider who feels called to walk alongside a family with both competence and care.
THE IDEAL NANNY IS....Warm. Wise. Attuned. You’ve supported new families before—especially those navigating the challenging postpartum days—and know how to strike that beautiful balance of stepping in and stepping back. You’re a clear communicator and a quiet doer. Organized and punctual, but also gentle and calm, you bring a grounding energy to the home. You’re adaptable, trustworthy, and know that supporting a family sometimes means warming up a meal just as much as it means rocking a baby to sleep. You delight in newborn care, are comfortable bottle feeding or supporting breastfeeding, and find fulfillment in being someone’s right-hand support. If you believe in showing up with a servant’s heart, walking into the day with kindness, and helping a mother rediscover her rhythm with grace, this family is waiting for you.
