WHO/WHAT: The first year of a baby’s life is pure magic — tiny milestones, gummy smiles, and the joy of watching a little personality unfold day by day. If caring for infants during this special season is your favorite stage of nannying, this Fox Chapel family would love to meet you. These warm, thoughtful parents are preparing to welcome a nanny who will become a trusted part of their baby boy’s earliest days. When you start in mid-September, their sweet little guy will be four months old — right at that magical stage when curiosity is blossoming and every day brings new developmental milestones.
Your primary focus will be caring for this baby throughout the workday while his energetic three-year-old sibling spends most days happily at daycare (though coverage for daycare closures would be appreciated!). The household rhythm strikes a lovely balance: mornings are often lively and bustling, while afternoons settle into a calmer groove of naps, snuggles, and play. Both parents work from home and deeply respect the nanny’s role as the daytime captain in baby’s care—encouraging initiative and ownership—while maintaining their role as the primary decision-makers. They’re hoping to find someone confident and experienced who can comfortably guide the baby’s routine — feeding, soothing, naps, and engaging age-appropriate play — while keeping them updated on the day’s highlights. Expect plenty of talking, singing, tummy time, and floor play as you help support early developmental milestones. (And occasionally the household soundtrack might feature Disney favorites or toddler dance parties.)
When the baby is snoozing, you’ll lend a hand with light household tasks such as washing bottles, family dishes, children’s meal prep, children’s laundry, tidying play areas, and restocking nursery supplies. The family also has two small, friendly dogs who would appreciate fresh food and water — and occasionally a short walk if the day allows. They hope to find someone who will stay with them for about a year and become a calm, supportive presence during this special season of early parenthood.
THE IDEAL NANNY IS…EXPERIENCED AND NURTURING. You have significant experience caring for infants and truly enjoy the newborn and early developmental stages. Ideally, you bring five or more years of nanny experience and feel confident guiding feeding routines, naps, and age-appropriate activities that help babies thrive. You are gentle, patient, and deeply attentive — someone who notices the small cues babies give and responds with warmth and calm reassurance. You’re also:
• Proactive and organized
• Communicative and emotionally aware
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Playful and creative in engaging babies
• Comfortable working in a home where parents are present but focused on work
This family especially values a nanny who can step into the day with confidence, keep things running smoothly, and collaborate with them as thoughtful partners in caring for their child. Above all, they hope to find someone who genuinely loves working with infants and will become a positive, trusted presence in their baby’s first year of life.
