WHO/WHAT: If you’re wired to think ahead, stay three steps in front of the day, and quietly keep everything running smoothly—you’re going to want to keep reading. This is a returning East Wind Nannies family—and truly one of those behind-the-scenes favorites. They are professional, thoughtful, grounded, and incredibly respectful of the people they bring into their home. We’ve partnered with them before, and their caregivers stay—because it’s just that kind of environment. They’re now looking for someone to take ownership of the afternoon and evening rhythm of their home—a role that blends childcare, coordination, and a calm, capable presence into one seamless flow.
Your day begins around 2:00pm, giving you a valuable window to get ahead. You’ll prep the kid’s dinner, reset the kitchen, tackle children’s laundry, and set the stage so that when school pickup rolls around, everything feels ready—not rushed. From there, the day unfolds in a predictable rhythm: school pickup, activities, homework, dinner, bath, and bedtime. You’re the one guiding it all—keeping things moving and keeping things calm. Most weeks include one later evening when both parents are traveling, typically extending until around 9:30pm. These nights call for a bit of flexibility—but also give you the opportunity to fully step in and run the evening with confidence from start to finish. If you’re the kind of person who casually checks a flight status and adjusts the evening accordingly—you’ll fit right in here. Between frequent Mom and Dad’s trips to NYC and consistent work-from-home days, no two weeks look exactly the same—but the rhythm is well-communicated and easy to follow. The kids are a fun, dynamic duo. The 7-year-old is creative, artistic, and thoughtful—she thrives with someone who engages her imagination and meets her where she is. The 3-year-old is active, curious, and in that wonderfully busy 3-year-old stage —where boundaries and playfulness go hand in hand.
This home runs best with someone who can hold multiple threads at once—dinner in the oven, backpacks unpacked, tomorrow already in motion—without ever feeling flustered.
You’ll also be working alongside a fantastic, long-term daytime nanny, so being someone who communicates well, collaborates easily, and enjoys being part of a team is key. There’s also flexibility to occasionally switch days with the daytime nanny when schedules shift. Outdoor time is a big part of life here—between their beautiful space and a neighborhood full of kids ready to play, afternoons are meant to be spent outside whenever possible. This is a role that’s designed for someone looking to settle in for the long haul, many years to come.
THE IDEAL NANNY IS…ADAPTABLE...exceptionally dependable, quietly proactive, and thrives in a well-run rhythm. You’re the kind of person who just handles things. You don’t wait until 5:30 to wonder what’s for dinner—you’ve already planned it, prepped it, and are halfway there before the kids walk in the door. You’re a natural multitasker—not in a chaotic way, but in a calm, efficient, “of course I’ve got this” way. You can pivot between homework help, dinner prep, and keeping things on track.
Reliability is at your core. Your consistency allows everything to function smoothly. You show up on time, every time, ready to step in and lead the afternoon with confidence. You’re observant. You notice the small things—shifts in mood, what’s needed tomorrow, when something feels off—and you adjust accordingly. You communicate clearly. You work well with others—especially another nanny—and value being part of a professional home environment. And while you’re incredibly capable, you’re also warm, engaging, and present with children. You know when to set boundaries, when to be playful, and how to create an evening that feels both smooth and connected.
✨ This is one of those rare roles where everything just…works. A kind, professional family. A clear, manageable structure. A team dynamic. And the opportunity to settle into something long-term and meaningful. If you’re looking for a position where you’re trusted, valued, and able to truly shine in your role—this is it.
